I applied for I 485 , AP and EAD during 07 July. I got a fp notice back in 2007 and I got another one two weeks ago. I went ahead and did my bio-metrics over the weekend at TSC Application Support Center.
Does this mean that somebody has looked into my file and pre adjudicated it? or is it a automated thing and does not mean anything?
Please advice!
I do not know. I got a notice too. Due for Biometrics this month end.

I had a question about using using AC21.
Here is the scenario: Let us say I work for XYZ Company who applied for my 140 and 485. I have approved 140, H-1b, EAD and AP.
If XYZ laid me off or I left them for career progression or more money 180 days after my 485 was filed and 140 approved, what happens to my 485 application?
Wouldn't USCIS question that since my sponsoring employer does not exist anymore, who am I going to work for once I get my green card? or is this coverd under AC21?
Please advice!
sir, if you have worked 180 days for this employer after filling of 485, there are no issues with CIS, atleast legally. However there are some unfortunate incidents going on where IO wrongfully denied 485 petitions when a person changed jobs using AC-21. I urge you to take part in IV AC-21 letters campaign which will help you and all of us to survive any unfortunate, unforseen job loss due to current downturn in economy. (http://immigrationvoice.org/forum/showthread.php?t=22182) It is actully very easy, just print 4 pages and mail it thru' USPS. Won't even cost you $2. Remember this for yours and our future and peace of mind. Arul, I humbly request you to do so for sake of our community. Thanks!

At a recent AILA Conference, Michael Ayetes (USCIS Associate Director, Operations) announced, that during the months of July - August 2007, USCIS had received approximately 800,000 employment based adjustment applications (I-485s): 40,000 concurrently filed with I-140 petitions, 320,000 stand alone applications, and 400,000 dependent applications.
Of the 140,000 annual employment-based immigrant visas available, second and third preference categories are allocated 57.2%. If most of the employment based cases filed in July-August 2007 were second and third preferences, it could take approximately ten years of allocation to complete all these cases.
Although USCIS has posted on its website that I-485 cases received on or before August 9, 2007 have been entered into the system, a number of attorneys have not yet received receipt notices for cases filed at the end of June and July 2007. Moreover, some cases initially filed in Nebraska and transferred to Texas have now been forwarded to the Vermont or California Service Centers for faster processing of receipts.
USCIS is making every effort to process EAD applications within 90 days of receipt. The processing of Advance Parole applications may be delayed due to the number of cases filed.
A Biometrics notice will be issued even if a visa number is not available at the time.

There will be cases where simply placing your code below initializecomponent doesn't work as expected because your application hasn't fully loaded. For example, code in a UserControl that is relying on application state will return faulty values unless you ensure the parent has loaded via the Loaded event.

I am married to GC holder who is becoming USC on April 30. so i am sending my AOS application on May 1. Dont you think i am still in status since my H1b extension petition is pending????
h1bdudue1
Are you married to a USC? If so, you have nothing to worry about. Do not travel until your GC is approved as AP is not 100% safe for people that overstayed.

My attorney submitted my I485/EAD/AP last July 20th, the USCIS in Nebraska received it on July 23 by R. Pitcher at 9.29 am, since then I have no information on checks, LUD or receipts.
I reviewed all the information sbmitted by my attorney and I fond that she sent my paperwork using FEdex to:
U.S. Citizenship and Immigration
Nebraska Service Center
850 S Street
PO Box 87845
Lincoln, NE
US 68508
After taking a look to the USCIS site the address is correct but she missed the PO BOX numbers and wrote 87485 do you think this is a problem, please advise guys. what can I do
Thanks
Anna

You need to bring more clarity in your questions. Has your GC been approved and you are waiting for it to arrive in mail? or it is still pending approval. You do not need any visa to leave US. You will need it to get back in.
Be more clear in your questions and someone will reply.
sorry bout that. gc is still pending in NSC for approval.. had my valid h4... can i still use it incase i stayed in my country for like 7 mos. and gc was approved right after i left the US, can i still go back here in the US with just the valid h4????

DHS has publicized initiatives to enhance the E-verify program here. (http://www.uscis.gov/portal/site/uscis/menuitem.5af9bb95919f35e66f614176543f6d1a/?vgnextoid=70beadd907c67210VgnVCM100000082ca60aRCR D&vgnextchannel=68439c7755cb9010VgnVCM10000045f3d6a1 RCRD) The initiatives include:
(1) a new agreement with the Department of Justice that will streamline the adjudication process in cases of E-Verify misuse and discrimination;
(2) an informational telephone hotline for employees to provide a more timely, effective and seamless customer experience for workers seeking E-Verify information; and
(3) new training videos focusing on E-Verify procedures and policies, employee rights and employer responsibilities in English and Spanish.
The DHS's fact Sheet answers questions such as when and why E-Verify will share information with DOJ, what information it will share, what videos are available and where, how the employee hotline will work, what issues it will address, etc.

Can anyone tell me after my 6th year of H1 i have a 3 year extension of h1 visa, can i go to india and come back on that visa or do i need to have AP. I got my 140 approved and i got my 485 receipt notices.
As long as you have a valid H/L visa stamped on your passport , you dont need an AP to re-enter. Refer to lot of forums at IV. you will get info about AP/EAD usage and linking with H1
