Can we take the following decision. (this question is for the regular members who reply to peoples queries)
Questions that ask for any help or suggestion will be answered only if the persons signature mentions that they have contributed.
People who dont want to contribute can go to elsewhere and ask questions
It is not fair to expect a member to contribute the moment (s)he joins. It takes some time to understand the impact of GC problems and get a good feeling about IV activities. IV can not post its activities on forums. You will be surprised to know that anti-immigration organizations are well organized.
However, we have numerous members with 50+ posts and 3+ month of membership with no intension to contribute $20 (you will not get 2 Indian Buffet's in Washington DC for $20; it takes $4 (metro up) + $4 (metro down) + $4 (parking) everyday to DC).
I (and other members) have literally begged some of these members. One particular member says (s)he is going back to his/her country but starts posting obnoxious messages after a few weeks.

Moderators, do you think it's possible to issue an email receipt to contributors? I donated $250 so far and the first $100 was done through my bank billpay.. However, the online billpay deducted the amount right away, and it didn't give me any indication whether the check was actually endorsed by the intended recipient on the supposed delivery date.. Worrying about that, I sent in my second contribution via paypal.
Writing an actual paper check, I would see a copy of endorsement online, or using paypal I would know it's cashed out via email. But this is not the case with my bank's (bank of america) online billpay. Thanks!

As you may know, we are just one more week away from hosting Advocacy day in Washington DC where about 170 members of Immigration Voice will conduct nearly 250 meetings with offices of Senators and Congressmen. Such events cost money. If we have enough contributions, we can spend as per our budget of nearly $ 50,000. If not, we will have to cut back on the event spending and reduce the magnitude and size of the event.
If you are not coming to DC next week, please do your part and contribute funds to Immigration Voice. It not only finances the event properly, it instills pride and confidence in the members who will be there in DC that there are thousands of willing supporters behind them who could not be there physically but are 100% with them in their determination and resolve.

Where can I find medical insurance for my parents with reasonable coverage with reasonable premium. Their age is between 55 to 60. Well then why dont you picket against NumbersUSA, programmers guild et al too, i can name 20 conservative radio shows try emailing/talking them to change their opinion. I say this because i have emailed to a few and even tho they understand my point of view they will not change something that gets them ratings and propagates their cause.
IV has 25k members, i guess 10% out of those are really motivated to participate and ready do something, if you start diverting your resources towards such issues your team will not have much motivation or people remaining when you really need them to do something. IMO

some states do consider a foreign student as in-state after one year of residence. but for some other states that you have not been to, if you come on F1 visa, you are international and therefore out-of-state no matter how long your program is..
