barbara boxer, diane finestein, ted kennedy are anti eb immigrants, infact these people might be happy with this fiasco. John cornyn, pat leahey and others who sposored or co-sponsored skill, cantwell amendment are the ones who might help us.
Hi, I did that today. A personalized letter along with copies of the Interim Bulletin and te USCIS press release on July 2.
Next, I want to write to other senators who are friendly to skilled immigrants (Cantwell, Cornyn etc). Has someone compiled a list of them?

MC, I enjoy reading your posts, which, very often, are terse one-liners.
IMHO, you should have your CPO email before end of May. once you get it, don't go away, stay with us, here, on IV.
Thanks dummgelauft for your kindness. we need more people like you who are so kind and nice in this damn world .
You will get it soon too my friend. may be faster because you are a donor.

nice posters (soft copy only...authorized by IV....we can print in our local areas) to be placed in Grocery shops (mainly Indian stores mostly they accept) to attract new and inactive members to participate/contribute to this event. I am ready to place it in my area (4 stores I can reach).
Also how about pamphlets (again soft copy..authorized by IV...we can print it in our local) placed in stores for people to pick and read it (some may act on it). May be 1 in 100 will join which is reasonable (not a great) reach.
This is a good idea.
Could you find people willing to help create posters on a new thread. IV can help form a group that would take care of all creating posters, fliers, banner ads etc for this event.

I have told them that Im the only bread earner of the family and the cost of living in the area that i live is very high and that I have bills to pay. But they have denied my request. i dont know what other financial hardship should I show them. Maybe I should declare bankruptcy and then send that over to USCIS to show that I really have financial hardship.
I have infopass appointment on 14th I will try to raise the same issue again and see what they will say
Have requested the same thing, lets see hoe it goes. How long did u wait before u opened the SR. I hope u wont mind sharing.

you cannot take one guy's response and generalize.
Majority of EB2 members understand the problems faced by EB3. They are willing to work together. However it must be something better than the status quo.
The strategies and solution presented must benefit vast majority of people rather than one specific group.
I am totally against any effort that undermines one group and favor's other.
Visa recapture is the only permanent solution to our problems.
Would like to thank the one that left me a red with comments "thanks for your words of wisdom, but no thanks. pls stay away from this thread unless u hv something +ve to contribute. "
I suppose your anger towards me is for the fact that I am an EB2 and not for what I am proposing.
What bothers me is giving reds has become quite common to make one shutup rather than engaging in a civil Q&A discussion.
Good luck to y'all +ve contributors

No offense, but, I would continue or increase my contribution, not because someone else is doing so or not doing so, or not if I would I get a tax break or not, but just because of my sheer appreciation of the IV core group's amazing efforts.
I have not (in the recent past) seen such a group of dedicated, decent and diginified people working together in a selfless manner to achieve something not only for their own good but for the good of hundreds and thousands of their fellow "sometimes not so polite, not so patient" sufferers.
I see my contribution to IV something similar to a contribution to a church or a temple. You give, not so that you'll benefit out of it, but because at the end of the day it is money well spent for a good cause.
If you benefit out of the efforts possible by your contribution, that's a nice bonus.
I don't look at my contribution as "I pay $20 I should get $100 in return".
For me, it is not an investment, but a good expenditure for worthy cause.
Thank you so much for saying this. Worthy cause-yes- is it not our cause!?
guys, come on you are all members here, because you want relief from retrogression. It is your cause.

... the problem however is that the laws and procedures of the land do not care if you are suffering to do things right which makes it an UNFAIR system.
Hold that thought Albaman, the verdict on immigration is not out yet. True the laws do not care if you are suffering but then you have to ask urself 2 questions:
1) B4 IV, how many organizations/Individuals have voiced their plights? If you keep suffering silently, even ur next door neighbour wont know if ur alive or dead.
2) We are not american citizens or even permanent residents. Why will the law and the lawmakers care for us automatically? Forget about vote-banks for a minute. Think about why they will care at all, especially when no one was voicing an increase in Green Cards? Big corps have voiced an increse in H1B's and they got it from time to time.

i met a guy like this last weekend. came to US 2/3 yrs back. has masters in India and has 5 yrs total experience. not doing any research. He is actually a contractor at a client. the employer, applied his GC under EB1. he got GC under 1yr. I was amazed.
he says, his employer applied for few of his other colleagues too, but rejected. most amazingly, for one of his boss (1 or 2 levels above him) also they applied under EB1 but his app was rejected. unbelievable stuff. i guess the EB1 verification is random.
Be so bothered about this trend if it was not siphoning away green card numbers from people who have paid taxes for so many years, played by the rules and still don't have anything to show for it. Plus under EB1 these guys completely skip the labor cert system and escape the brunt of DOL inefficiency.
Nowadays with job openings I'm seeing that the lowest common denominator is taken over a better qualified candidate, the differentiator being GC. If that's the case these guys/gals gaming the system will one day be our bosses. And we with our degrees and experience will have no other option but so say "Yes sir" to these chumps who got lucky.
I'm honestly thinking of writing a letter to the CIS director asking them to please scrutinize these applications closely.

I don t give you red, but I am tired of your attitude. Guess what I have a masters degree, however in my field the jobs do not require one. Look again EB3 is not based on what peoaple have but what the job requires.
Granted even in my field they prefer to hire Masters and yes after 10 years I am a manager and a leader in my field, none of that helps me converting to Eb2 if the general impression is that Bach suffices for this as well.
Or maybe my lawyers are not as creative as yours. Either way stop trying to sound like you are so much better than EB3 people cus you are not. On the contrary I have yet to see you post something positive. Go back to bed and get some sleep maybe tomorrow you wont get up on the wrong side of bed, and finally have some more friendly attitude.
Employment based immigration was created to invite bright minds from the world and also fill the needs of companies who could not find good skills in USA citizens. It was not created to give green cards immediately to everyone who applied for one. The system works based on priority given to the top minds first who are in EB1. Then they give to EB2. There are other categories like asylum or family based created for their specific purpose.
If we are claiming to be best and the brightest having high skills and inventing then it is EB1 and EB2 mostly. By law EB3 is mostly for people who have Bachelor degree and hardly any experience in their field to claim as EB2. It does not matter you are masters from Harvard but by law, if your job requires just a bachelor degree then you are doing basic work at lower management. Legally EB3 have no case if they claim to be best and the brightest inventors. All doctors get EB2 or EB1. All managers with advanced degrees get EB2. All Scientists and PhD holders get EB1 and EB2. So EB3 is mostly people who are low skilled programmers, people in professions doing lower line work or people who despite having higher degrees are doing jobs that do not need advanced skills to be the brightest folks immigrating in USA. There are some exceptions of people who are screwed by their lawyers and employers by forcing them in EB3. These people should fight with their lawyers and employers or change their jobs to EB2. EB3 do not have a strong legal case to fight for EB3 if they claim to be best and the brightest. It is very humiliating but you like it or not EB3 is grouped with EB3 Other Workers that are waiters, janitors, construction workers, Farm workers etc.
You can give more reds. It does not matter. But if we need to fight the system, we need to understand the system and look at our strategy to fight it.

They are definitely approving beyond June 8th but there are many people with RD's from May 07 and before and much older priority dates still waiting. Do not read too much into the approvals you see the approvals are somewhat random to say the least.
EB3 ROW, PD November 2002, RD May 2007. Still not approved. Getting impatient seeing people getting approvals with later priority dates and receipt dates. Think my application has got lost in a corner somewhere.
I know, but I cannot help being hopefull, especially since some lucky guys here have finally gotten it. I am glad for them and hope that soon you and me will follow them!
I will send a little extra luck with this for you :)

u mean the old Passport ? Yes, my old one was issued in India (vizag).
renewal applied by mail to CG SFO, got the new one to my mailing address in US, on the fifth day.
the 10 days estimate they are giving might be including the buffer time for contingencies and
contacting vizag might be the worst case scenario they are telling, but most probably not needed.
i later learned that, u can renew ur PP in India in 3 days, with Tatkal.

I agree,
Sadly, there is no commonsense or compassion shown by the current immigration laws
The Dream act is seen by many as nothing more than an amnesty. If only they would only focus on the illegal children and include all other legal children and never reward their parents with a green card I feel there could be a workable solution so this act could go through
I have left a message with Durbin's legislator to contact me to try and get appointment to discuss and willing to fly anywhere at my own cost
