it is very easy to say - support CIR and get our ammendments attached to CIR...we were not even able to put forth our ammdmt on the floor last time around....It is not as easy as 1-2-3 ...

From all my analysis i had 20k-45k number in mind (for Aug/Sept). A large portion of it for EB2-I (could be as large as 25k for the whole year 2008)

It will not cause backlog for the undocument. Check my previous posting on this thread. The bill states that aliens adjustment by DHS sec. using this bill will not affect from the numercial visa numbers. In short- No backlog for undocumented folks whereas per country quote of existing application India, China continues...

Someone mentioned that IV has the same web fax facility. Can someone tell us how to use this facility. I registered with the numbersusa site and used their own fax to send out our message. I used the first name, last name and address form fields to put in our message like, "Bunch of Lies", "H1 pay all taxes", Numbersusa is spreading false information". Lets beat them at their own game by sending faxes ourselves and also using their fax service to spread our message. If its a good idea, please register on their site and send out faxes with our message.

Does this mean that if my spouse wants to start school in Sept 2007, it is fine to keep working till August 2007, file I539 change of status to H4 then and then resign from the company once one gets that receipt notice. With the receipt notice itself its good to be in status and can go to school then. The actual approval may come in 3-4 months and that should not be a consideration for the school.
Please tell me your views/experiences.
H1 is a non immigrant but dual intent visa.. It is assumed that you might try to immigrate...When your spouse filed I-140 , the immigration intent came forth.. Now USCIS already knows that your spouse wnts to immigrate...
F1 is a strictly non-immigrant visa. You have to prove your intention of not immigrating to USCIS....
So your position for asking a H1 to F1 transfer is inherently weak....Again a good attorney can spin it....You need a an extremely good attorney....
If you are paying out of your pocket, you can go to college on H4..
Student loans are not available on H4...No financial aid of any kind would be available on H4...
Transferring from H1 to H4 should be quick....I would not bother to file in premium...You are to stop working anyway....Just getting an application receipt should be good enough to start college....If the college allows, you can start college immediately....USCIS never objects to you going to college

We filed I-485 july last year, but didn't file for EAD.
Now I want to file EAD for me and my wife, she is on H4 right now.
The main posting talks about filing everything together.
Anyone know which all forms I need to send when applying only for EAD? do we need send any other form than I-765?
I filed in nebraska, but case is with texas service center now. Where should I mail my forms? Texas or Nebraska?

i am in the same boat, i was begging the damn lawyer to port me to EB2, she said, we will have to start the process all over again (as i had filed 485 in dec 04 )and it is not worth it. My company refuses to change lawyers so i am stuck in EB3 with pd apr 2002. :mad:
Your friends lawyer is stupid. I know many who are GC holder by converting. File new EB2 LCA and Port the EB3 date in I140 filing. Nothing wrong with it. My company (F 500) don't do it by some crap policy. I am still waiting since PD 2001 to see light. Why? Because EB2 India is always current but EB3 India PD is May 2001 or before from last 3 years. So if possible take advantage or I am living example. Waiting from 8+ years. Sorry for venting.. :)

When prominent business houses like Microsoft, Google, Cisco, Oracle and organizations like AILA seem powerless when it comes to influencing senators, lawmakers and government organizations like USCIS and DOS, what can IV team do to change the policies.
