i don't get it you are saying that members don't have to search...and yet someone has to keep it up on the home page...which is it? yes a sticky thread would have saved work and not required someone to keep it up. Why wasn't it done in the first place. When a service is supposed to be offered every week...it should be offered every week...or else there should be an announcement that is will not be offered this particular week and that it will continue next on said week.
No reason to be frustrated when people are asking simple questions...another idea would be to put the answers to the most frequently asked questions on the FAQ page...which does not work right now....so that you don't have to repeat the answers.
Its an easy solution i think.
Giving a long lecture of frustration is not the best way to attract people to an organisation.
Think about it...do u go buy clothes from a store that voices their frustrations about the prices of raw material...of do u go buy it because they were nice to you...had great customer service...nice selection of goods...and fair prices.
I am sorry but working for hours on end alone, voicing frustration at lack of participation, treating members like they are morons for not being able to find supposedly simple things is a really terrible way to attract more people to an organisation. The cause may be noble...but who will wanna join some organisation where people just complain about how miserable things are.
Please pause for a moment and think about what i am saying. This is exactly why you have less participation and less donation. IV needs to transform into a vibrant fun place to be while still upholding the noble cause.
Why dont you do customer service for IV as a volunteer if you think IV is not responding right? How about that? I myself have some complaints but I agree with IV is doing for us. But since I do not volunteer, do not have time to do anything for IV or even donate, so I have no right to just complain. But I have seen people volunteer and help out for me and you. They talk to Senators for me and you and this is a big work. It does not matter to me if the thread is bumped up or is a sticky. Making a thread sticky will not advocate for me for my green card. Can I file for I-485 while I am waiting for I-140 approval. My PD is current under eb2 and my I-140 was filed on Jan-2007. I am going to upgrade to PP for I-140 but since lots of people will start going to file for PP, it is very much likely that NSC will issue RFE to reduce there workload. So my question is while I wait for I-140 approval, can I file I-485?

Getting too worried as my current ead is going to expire on Sep 19th.
Looking at the tracking it looks like TSC has started to work on all these pending cases. Hopefully our petitions get approved soon too

If you intend to join this company on an EAD, then this company will HAVE to do an AC21.
Without an AC21, you will be working illegally as you are working for a company without proper work authorization. Your EAD will at all times require a sponsoring employer. When you are no longer working for your sponsoring company, you are in violation of your EAD authorization.

In 2009, I went for a personal interview with an immigration Officer at local USCIS Office. She verified all the records and when I was about to leave, she gave me a form and said:
"When your priority date become current, I need you to send this form to us ASAP so we can check the visa availability for you. We personally won't remember your file and priority date."
The form contains my A number, my name, case status and is written "Pending for visa availability."
However, at this time, my files are no longer with local USCIS office. They have been moved to Texas.
So, when my dates become current, I will open SR or whatever to let them know that I am ready for some greenery in my backyard. :)

As pointed out earlier there is lot of herd mentality on the forums and if one person posts, everyone else does the same. Some people I have seen on the forum call customer service every day to get case status. I urge people to read and try to understand the process than blindly following what others are doing. Secondly as posted earlier, tracking is also useless and a waste of time. It will not help you get your green card any faster. Have some patience and follow the process. Starting a service request as soon as your date gets current, cannot help you.

It it their advantages to have this data. And it is so easy nowadays to have a simple program analyzing these data in real time to profile trades in terms of who they are (inst/retailer, between themselves or not), block size distribution, duration of trades (how long the buy/sell mode last), etc.
Most of daytraders do not have these information. That's why most of the daytraders lose money in trading

Once we have a sizable number of people to take initiative this effort can be successful. It is difficult to divert attention and resources for a single person. Each immigration issue that our community faces is important to the person suffering from it. IV is a place where people can get together and do something about fixing it.

Same story here. They will send RFE for biometrics for her. Expect it within a month, if you do not get it in a month, take Infopass/call and ask for biometrics appointment. My daughter's I-485 was approved next day after FP.

My Attorney has sent in more than 2 inquiries with DOL and each time we get the same boilerplate reply saying you are in queue and we are processing it. This is an automated reply as few of my friends even got the same reply with no change except case number.
Also as for as i know there is no time limit as such as 4 months to wait before contacting DOL.
When I called the attorney she try to look up the audit reply status and read that sentence containing 4 months wait time to me from the website. I do not know how far it is true but this is what she said.

I have submitted all the documents to my laywer on 6/25 itself (including medical) but they are just heavily back logged and won't be filing my case till Jul 10. I am just frustated now. I even offered to pay extra to speed it up but no use. I am only worried if dates retrogress half way through?
To my real question.. Can we just file on our own with out the lawyer? I would hate to loose this window just coz my laywer couldn't do it. Not sure how I would break that kinda news to my wife, "I know the dates were current for 10 days in July but our lawyer didn't have time so now you will have to stay at home for 1 more year".

We need to underscore this point over and over again with a sense of urgency. Having to wait ~5-10 years for permanent residence **just because of country of birth**, a discrimination practiced only against Indians and Chinese (well, I know it's country quotas and each country has one, but it only impacts Indians and Chinese) is nothing but a grave human rights abuse.
As the President has said many times over, "the time is now". This needs to be fixed.

So far all the arguments and suggestions were really good. But Totoro seems to be looking for compelling stories. There are very depressing cases where people had to restart their GC process for no fault of their own. And some people have been here for more than 10 years still rotting in the queue hoping to get a GC and move on with their dreams to become a Citizen of this country.
However the collective compelling story is what Eternal Hope has expressed. This is exactly the situation for people from India/China.
Sure anchor babies is not a great argument for illegals cause it promotes illegal immigration. (In fact I heard in some countries Citizenship by birth only works if the parents are legals. But thats a different story.).
Let us say because of the reasons listed by Eternal Hope we are forced to go back to our home countries.
Firstly, How fair will that be for our children who are Legit Citizens of US.
These innocent kids know only US as their home. Just as much as any other US Citizen. Most of the kids can only speak english. They can barely understand their mother tongue. Point is they are just as American as any American kid.
If they are forced to go to a foreign country, far from their friends and familiar surroundings. Had the change been for the better, still they would feel they were wronged. My guess is they will hold a grudge against us, their parents, and their own country.
This to me is compelling reason, specially since I am a Democrat (sorry can't vote yet).
BTW, my moral support has always with Obama, and with Zoe Loefgren.

That was the defining moment for all people who have been subjected to injustice, been told that they were not good enough because of their race or country of origin. Think about it... The Chinese and Indians having to wait so many years just to get a GC is injustice being done to a people of certain origin. Oh well!
