hi all !!
my husband concurently file I-140 and I-485 (along with EAD and AP) on 22nd June 2007. We got our I-140 approved on 30th August. I have two questions
1. When can i expect my EAD ?
2. Is there any rule that i shud start working within some stipulated time after getting my EAD or i can take my own time ?
I wonder I am waiting for my I-140 approval since DEC'2006 and your got approved within few weeks...my goodness
Can you please make sure your I-140 applied on July'22nd'2007?
Thank you

Hi Ashish,
Just one search for Nebraska on USCIS website resulted the answer you were looking for.
Follow the link. Read the complete page to find out the correct address for sending your particular application type because each application has its own PO box number.

Due to Iceland's volcanic ash my MIL trip has to be postponed. She was on visitor visa. We filed an extension with USCIS and paid $300. She left US as soon as flights started to resume.
USCIS approved her extension 30 days after she left US.
a) Can we seek a refund because this extension has to be filled due to reasons beyond our control
b) In the future how to seek a fee waiver (any tips or advice please).
c) Can we seek fee waiver when we e-file a petition.
Thanks for your help

Thank you guys for your responses. I hope that it won't cause any issue...
Lawyer had just mentioned NA in that column, thankfully, I had submitted copy of my I140 approval.
Anyways, hoping for the best and continuing to wait and watch...

Yes, this is very common. BTW once IO at POE made an error and give I-94 till 3 years when my I-797 was expiring in less than a year. Immediately came back to him and brought to his attention and he corrected it.

I'm possibly in the same situation - if the company I work for gets bought and the company name changes does this complicate the process? I would hold the same job, title and everything else? This is a real possibility we already made 1/3 of the workforce redundant last week..
Or is it that the name change or the going away of the oirginal sponsor name means a re-start to the PERM stage? This is bad timing for me as I'm about to enter my 6th year of H1B - and as I understand it I cannot start a new PERM in the last year of H1B..?
What should I do - hold my breath or can I do something in the 3 months I have left before my 6th year starts??

Hello there,
Can anyone please write toll free telephone # for the USCIS Premium Processing (I140, H1-B Renewals). Just wondering if one can obtain Receipt Number for the I-140 filing?

Hello all,
First some background:
I purchased a house this September and my apartment lease expires end of Sept. So I am basically living at both places and moving slowly. Anyway my USPS mail forwarding starts from 9/21.
As far as immigration and change of address goes, based on my lawyers advise...I filled out the online AR-11 change of address and also updated address change for my 485/ap/ead ( I am a july 2nd candidate) pending cases as well. However, after downloading the pdf version of the AR-11 I realized I misspell "Lane" to "Land." Don't know if this is a huge problem. Anyway can I re-file the AR-11 and change of address for all the pending petitions again for myself and my spouse? Does anyone have any thoughts or could share their experience? I read somewhere its also a good idea to update address with local office by getting info pass appointment? Any comments/ thoughts?
Also, in the AR-11 form I didn't provide email address, is that a big deal?
I also read somewhere that its a good idea to print out the ar-11 and mail it as well? Any thoughts?
Also, is the change of address instantaneous in uscis's system? Since I submitted my request today and I might do it again tomorrow (based on the response I get from this forum), and if USCIS happens to mail FP/EAD/AP (hypothetically speaking ) say next monday, will they mail to my old address or the new one? Just curious.
I am kind of worried at a time like this and was hoping someone could share their thoughts and concerns.
Thank you,

This must be the worst immigrant experience I have heard.
I am sorry to hear that you have to go through this. You must approach social workers' group in your local area. They will help you get proper treatment from reliable sources, and they will also appoint you a lawyer if you cant afford one.
Dont let that loser off the hook. Despite of all emotions involved in this case, go after him hard and square. Make him pay for what he did to your daughter.
I dont know about your GC process, for which consulting an immigration lawyer is the best thing to do, right now you have a much important issue at hand than just a green card.

I am a question regarding h1b stamp.
I am working for a company (A) and I have visa stamp for company A until Dec 2010. I am planning to switch to company B soon. I was wondering if I need another visa stamp with company B or the same stamp will do. I am planning to visit India in February.
Thanks in advance

Gurus,
I have labor pending from a State A, now my employer is asking me to move to State B. However, my employer is willing to keep alive, labor process from State A and is also ready to file new labor from State B. Question is if labor A gets approved and if I apply I-140 on that labor, do I have to reapply I-140 for labor B, once labor B gets approved or I can use the same I-140?
Help is appreciated.
Thanks

You may as well ask uscis to ask for the remainder of the H1B period provided there is an employer who is willing to process your H1B. Remember, you will have to lose your current I485 processing and start all the way from scratch though you can recapture the priority date with the new GC process.

Once your wife's starts using EAD, her H status is invalid (H1 or H4).
EAD to H4: Fastest way to get back to H4 would be travel outside USA, stamp, and reenter using H4. You should be maintaining the H1 status all the time.
EAD to H1: In my opinion, she can get back to H1 as long as her H1 is not expired. COS to H1 or extension can not be done past expiry date.
Hope this helps!

I am on l2 since my husband is on L1. I work full time for a US employer with an EAD. Now, what would happen to my status if my husband quits his job? you have EAD, that EAD was entirely based on your L2 status. If L2 status is gone so EAD is invalid too....

I have started a new thread to remind everyone (who has not yet contributed) to contribute for the just concluded Advocacy day.
Take some funds from any money that you put aside this year for charitable causes or temple donations. All that you contribute is money well spent - as eventually it would benefit a number of people and entire families. So helping people better their lives is like contributing to charitable causes. Even $50 is good to start with. Hope that motivates all.
Hi Guys,
Just Curious, you asked for & posted the contribution very consistently on forum - now since advocacy days are over - are you going to post the break-up of expenses also in similar manner? That will motivate people (who can't make it to advocacy event) to understand the expenses & donate for future events.

Better wait for your receipt numbers from I-797. I think this case is for somebody else and it is about appeal from decision of previously adjudicated case.

Found this while searching the website of the Senate Judiciary committee. Even though it is more than a month old, the references to SKIL bill in the hearing offers a glimmer of hope to us..As I understand the SKIL bill has been referred to the same committee for several months now.

this is old news.
we at IV had contacted members before the testimony. you can get more details in the old thread on this topic.
