Picture will become more clear in MAY when Pres. OBAMA will announce his plan for CIR 2009. If he does then chances of this bill going anywhere is very minimal. Also don't forget that this is just in senate. Same version needs to be pass in House. Amendment to Stimulas package regarding Financial Company cannot hire h1b was relatively easy. It doesnot need bill go through all sub committee and other lengthy process.

i sorted based on application mailed date , all are pending !!
the mailed date was recently added as a column.. till now ppl were using receipt date column as application reached.. wait till fp dates and notice dates get populated...the earliest i have seen is for ppl current in june who have a receipt date of 06/29

My attorney sent the I-485 papers on 7/16 and it reached NSC on 7/17 at 9:36AM. USCIS announcement to accept the applicatons was done on 7/17 evening. Will mine be in the potential rejection pile? Any input will be appreciated.

Many sites. What kind of alerts are you looking for? Vols? Greeks? You can also customize most of the alerts depending on spreads you might be trading. This is possible even in simple option accounts with Level 4 approval.

The mistaken notion "GC = freedom" seems so pervasive that I am also tempted to take a whack at this much maligned equation. Lot of anguish can be spared by keeping our expectation from this 3" X 2" plastic somewhat grounded in reality. There is no denying that having GC makes life easier than before, specifically by opening up more job/career opportunities. But these have nothing to do with the constitutional freedom that you presumably allude to with your Statue of Liberty analogy (I should say though, as a metaphor this quote of your colleague is pretty lame). Not only GC does not give us the right to vote, it cannot even protect us from deportation risk on relatively minor legal grounds (http://www.nytimes.com/2008/04/12/us/12naturalize.html?_r=1). Anyway, I guess people in this forum still have the right to be disappointed by how lawmakers behave. Listen, I have hope that some form of legal imm legislation will pass some day, may be within a year, but I do believe it would take some serious lobbying efforts by powerful people to achieve that. That just seems to be the reality. You can try to ignore reality if you want.

For PMP I think, you need to take some courses, I had taken some courses at Berkeley Online on project management, these courses count towards PMP.
They also have in class courses, if you are interested.
Better to do something than nothing.

Dear IV Members,
If you believe that your success depends on your immigration process - whether it's the ability to file I-485 earlier or to get green-card and citizenship sooner or whether it's the ability of your spouse to work - then you have to believe that your success somehow depends on the success of Immigration voice and these 170 volunteers in DC next week.
As you may know, we are just one more week away from hosting Advocacy day in Washington DC where about 170 members of Immigration Voice will conduct nearly 250 meetings with offices of Senators and Congressmen. Such events cost money. If we have enough contributions, we can spend as per our budget of nearly $ 50,000. If not, we will have to cut back on the event spending and reduce the magnitude and size of the event.
If you are not coming to DC next week, please do your part and contribute funds to Immigration Voice. It not only finances the event properly, it instills pride and confidence in the members who will be there in DC that there are thousands of willing supporters behind them who could not be there physically but are 100% with them in their determination and resolve.

On line MBAs don't have much value, they still cost a lot.
Why not do a part time or full time that has some value.
I know of a friend who did from Univ of Phoenix, but not much in return.

it would make our plans to go back even more certian.. A MASS EXODUS of HIGH TECH WORKERS.. is exactly what this country needs..way to go!
If CIR S.1348 results as a death sentence to the draems of thousands of
hightech workers and eventually it results to a exodus i'm sure they will realize the mistake at the end.
When they will see that No one is interested in this country to study and Pursue STEM ( even with scholarship) and their problem is still unresolved they probably have to spend Double the Money to bringback Indians here.

Came to USA on H1B, paid for the H1B fees(at that time didn't know it was illegal to do so)
however after coming here , Paid for my own ticket and landed here on start of january 2011.
Confirmed my arrival to the employer too. Since my leaving the home country there has not been any mail correspondence from the employer , though i have been writing many. Talked to him over the phone and he said he wasn't responsible for my arrival as he doesn't have any project for me. Waited to get another job as a H1B TXFR but stuck with trnsfrs issues due to non availablity of paystubs from him.
I never reported to work as he said dont come to office, dont have any paystubs, but have all my H1B papers , I97 and Employment offer from that consultant. I have decided to leave back to my home country but not before reporting this blood sucker to DOL.
I need to clarify a few things before i nail these blood suckers
1. How long before i board my flight back home , should i send the documents to DOL
2. I have the originals of H1B filing and LCA and I94, are they rquired in originals
or copy to send to DOL
3. What other documents should i send alongwith
4. Do you think my case will get weaker if iam not here ? As i am flying back to my home country.
5. I dont want these suckers to go scott free, so how to build my case here , can i ask the DOL to recover my wages for 4 months i wasnt getting paid.
I do not care if i get any wages or not from them , but i really wanna see the locks on the gates of this company. They shouldn't take H1B and its applicant for scapegoats.
Any advices are welcome to help me bring these guys to justice.
did you and your employer agree on a joining date? Who's call it was to bring you into US? If you are working for a consulting company, you probably don't have agreements like this. But when you are spending your own money, I would expect you to be doubly sure that your employer wants you to be in the USA.
You've landed straight into the pitfalls of this body shopping business unfortunately you've lost quite a bit due to this. I am not sure screwing the employer should be the top priority. All your effort at this point must go into finding a way to stay in this country. If you do not have paystubs, you could still get a H1 transfer but you may not get a new I-94. Explore all options to stay in this country legally and resurrect your career.
