I would think IT experience is the same anywhere so taking it to canada should be ok? If not there are plenty of other management jobs there. It might be a new start but in a one year timespan you will be well established.

Logiclife. I know why you are responding to these comments you all are frustrated with such comments. I know it is hard to not respond but please ignore these asinine comments. Please have some of these comments linked to the main page. But believe me "barking dogs seldom bite." Such people will ultimately sap your energy. But, just like how IV is asking people to contribute please also ask them to use their own judgment, they do this at their own risk. There are many people like us who have faith in your group although we know you cannot do miracles. bringing bk the discussion to more serious point. We can all agree that on the surface immigration system here is seems unfair towards Indian, Chinese and Mexicans. Whats the reason behind it? why only three countries which suffers from long waits. Its demand and supply. If there were no country caps, all the visa's will be absorbed by these three countries. Even though it has cost me time and money, i think its the right policy. for a moment imagine there was no country limit, can you imagine for few years to come immigration will be from only these three countries. i think its only fair to limit how many people can come from one specific country.
and one more point, we are never going to get treated with respect and equality, just get used to it. every American knows we left our country to come to his. he is always gonna look down upon us. Immigrants are never treated with love, respect and dignity, no matter which country they go to. Case in point, Bangladeshi and Nepali migrant workers in India. We treat them like dirt back home, so discrimination against immigrants is part of immigration process. hopefully our ABCD offspring's will face less of it :)

Why do they come on wife's account ? Is it legal if spouse makes mistake in any case ?
Wife or child account is considered a 'FAMILY' account and they can impound that account. Unless you divorce your wife and then transfer the money into that account you cannot expect that the money in your wife's (or ex-wife's) account is safe if a judgement is passed against you.

Seriously, folks. What's with this thread? Total waste of time.
Someone announces his 'greatest achievement' ... others challenge him to show true patriotism... yet others ask him to continue supporting India etc., AND this chap actually responds :)!
Wow! Seriously we all have too much time on our hands to be self promoting / congratulating / reminiscing etc...
Glad that this person will call US Senators etc., lets thank him for that and keep moving... instead of grilling him on things that matter to you! He owes you all no explanations or apologies.

My PD is Nov 2004 (EB3 India). My 140 has not been approved yet. Also, I do not plan to use EAD so issues thereby are out of question. My only worry is can I keep renewing H1B while my 485 has not been approved. My attorney says NO. He says that you can apply for H1B extensions after 6 years only if you have not been able to apply for 485.
However based on your responses, it looks like I will have to validate this with some other lawyer to make sure if I can keep extending my H1B so I can maintain my wife's H4 status.
From what I know your lawyer is wrong, you will get one year H1 extensions in your case.
ask another lawyer or go over older Murthy chatlogs/faqs.

It looks like not ALL applicants are having a delay in receiving their passport after Visa stamping.
I know couple of my friends received their passport the next day.
(H1 extension - stamping in Chennai)
But I understand from the forum that many people are experiencing delays.
Any thoughts on what kind of applicants are experiencing delays ?
(or) in other words.... What kind of approval information (H1/L1) are delayed in getting into the PIMS system
Example: People renewing the H1-Visa in passport after 1 year of expiry (or)
Time between the H1 approval (in US) and the actual Stamping date in India is less than 1 or 2 months ?

The directional bet you are taking in this case is again on the vol increasing over a longer period of time.
I read Nassim Taleb here. His hedge fund bled for 20 years buying deep out of the money options and finally in 2008 made 156% or so.
If you are into statistical arbitrage - you have your own gold standard, usually some mathematical model, of how a specific market should be priced. If the market price differs from this - then you enter into a trade to make money when eventually this anomaly reverses.
If anyone can withstand the terminology I can post some stat arb ideas. I gave it to another member who had PM'd me.
