Actually, not all he said was wrong.
We should not support what these IT consulting companies are doing with H1B programme just because we are on H1. These big companies are hoarding H1B visas so they can have an upperhand when dealing with the employees.
My own employer was trying to get as many H1s as possible without having ANY work for them.
This is also due to the fact that because even they have no work for all the H1B employees, they file for H1Bs in bulk, for they know that they don't have to pay people on bench, even though by law they are supposed to...
But most importantly we are concerned with visa recapture and GC reform in the long run..If H1B reform is the step towards that goal then that would be good..

AILA has a template of a letter/email to Congress members that can be used to express support for visa recapture and immigration reform.

You may like to modify the message to suit your life situation and preferences. For example, instead of undocumented aliens, I used the opportunity to stress the difficulties of employment-based applicants. While I have nothing against them, it is my belief that I need to stress my own problem and seek a resolution.
And, I have also forwarded the link and my mail to all my friends who are waiting for green cards. More importantly, I have asked my relatives and friends, who are citizens or who have green cards, to pitch in and write for our sake.

No I wouldn't. Get it from the your child's pediatrician since they know the case history and will be able to word it correctly. Remember that the letter from the pediatrician is the basis which the certified civil curgeon for USCIS will use to apply for a waiver if he/she thinks it is necessary.

My attorney told me that my wife needs to get back before her scheduled trip. This would incur huge costs plus it would be difficult to get the seat arrangements. ( We have a twins and we have seats with bassinets for the infants). My father is also travelling with her.
Is it possible to ask 1 month extension for RFE based on the difficulties. I'm EB3 IND PD 2003 and I dont think our I-485 is waiting for adjudication any time soon.
I've scheduled an infopass appointment tomorrow. What are the chances of getting an extension when I present my case to IO?

are they just adding equipments or are they migrating to a new system? i hope they are not migrating so that they don't have to deal with the learning curve.
one of the Justification for Fee increase given by USCIS Director was for investing in hiring new personel and e-processing. I guess they will try to convert some of the applications to filed electronically , which would free up their resources , who will probably focus on backloggs

Hi Guys,
Considering that we have all spent enough time stuck in the same job for several years it makes sense to prepare for the time if/when we actually get green card.
So I was wondering if anyone here has weighed and compared the cost and benefit of PMP vs MBA. Any thoughts would be helpful.

You're right. No offence but no authority seems to be listening to IV suggestions. I agree that people at IV are doing great job, but the problem is nobody is listening. They just don't care. And this think will go on & on. I remember s'body suggesting hunger strike and at that point of time I thought that won't work. But now it seems we have to go extreme and do hunger strike and stuff to pressurize this crappy system.
EB3 people don't think I am being selfish here. The truth is we have to work unitely and pressurize for visa recapture. That will be beneficial for e'body.
Lets target the 'Asses' asking for a kick. Let's all kick ass.

Actions - 1) Vote on survey.

3)Print/Circulate Fliers and spread FB, wiki link (see "support thread")

If you believe that your success depends on your immigration process - whether it's the ability to file I-485 earlier or to get green-card and citizenship sooner or whether it's the ability of your spouse to work - then you have to believe that your success somehow depends on the success of Immigration voice and these 170 volunteers in DC next week.
As you may know, we are just one more week away from hosting Advocacy day in Washington DC where about 170 members of Immigration Voice will conduct nearly 250 meetings with offices of Senators and Congressmen. Such events cost money. If we have enough contributions, we can spend as per our budget of nearly $ 50,000. If not, we will have to cut back on the event spending and reduce the magnitude and size of the event.
If you are not coming to DC next week, please do your part and contribute funds to Immigration Voice. It not only finances the event properly, it instills pride and confidence in the members who will be there in DC that there are thousands of willing supporters behind them who could not be there physically but are 100% with them in their determination and resolve.

I understand the Time, Money, Effort and Sacrifices many of you have made to fight for this common cause. Please do not get discouraged by some mindless posts.
