I sent a detailed mail to Chennai Consulate yesterday for scheduling an appointment and got response in 2 hours! They said Transportation Letter is required for this case and i need to carry required documents to prove that my daughter's case was approved. Fee is around $175. Initially I thought I should apply for Returning resident visa, but they said it is not necessary and Transportation letter is fine.

I think you missed the USCIS update. You can file till Aug 17th. So its the same amount of time one month from now.
I read some where that filing is allowed to Aug-17, but the new fees will effected on 01-Aug although July filers.
Correct me If I'm wrong.

As far as I know there is a Malayalam IPTV service available for North American viewers. It is called "BomTV" (Best of Malayalam TV) with Asianet (4 channels), Jeevan, Jaihind, Shalom, Powervision, etc. You don't need dish or cable or computer and you get HD transmission on your TV. I did some mistakes when I went for Visa intervew in March 2007, I have done a new form on line and printed again.If they have not changed the usage of online DS-156 you could do the same thing.
Some fields cannot be edited after you save for the first time like Passport Details (Number, Place of issuance etc).

sajimm, I was in similar situation like yours. During Dec 2004, Our doctor directly took xray test instead of TB skin test. Thats the reason I got NOID on 07/20/07.
I submitted my new 693 along with new TB skin test result and the case processing resumes on 08/15. The LUD is changing every day after that.

Every one is looking at this forums including usics people.
It is clear that their hands are also tied, when processing millions of applications few mistakes not avoidable.

Fellow IV members who have their GCs approved and some of those who are still waiting:
I have a few questions on how my brand new GC will help me in my situation..
My current project is ending 12/31 and I have about 20 PTO days left(yes, I get PTO from my desi employer)...Like many others I have signed a 'bond' with them that I will not leave them before july 2008.
Now after my current project is over, can they force me to use my PTO? or ask me to go on unpaid vacation even if I'm willing to work for them if they have work for me...
What if I get something on my own but my employer is not able to find work for me and pay me... Am I still bound by the contract I signed with them?

I had this experience before in Pennsylvania, same single bed room, had a PC, fridge, thats pretty much it...
Apartment management said, check with power company. Power company said the apartment have insulation problems. There are quite a few reasons why this may happen..
1) Location of apartment, corner, ground level
2) Old equipment, like washer/dryer, bad insulation
3) Normally in northern states winter power rates are more almost 2.5 times....
the highest i got was $350 dollars at that time, that was in 2004....

My lawyer also did not file EAD/AP along with the AOS application. The USCIS FAQ 2 says that you can file without the I-485 receipt but you do need proof of delivery. Has the lawyer given you the FedEx / UPS delivery receipt?
In my case, my HR told me that the lawyer flew in a guy to physically hand over the AOS cases on July 2. Don't know how true that is.:confused:
My I-485(with G-28) was filed by our company lawyer and company did not let us file EAD. I'm filing EAD on my own after USCIS made it clear with FAQ2 that they will accept EAD applications without the I-485 Receipt notice.
My questions is, Can I be sure the receipt notice for the EAD will come to me and not to the lawyer by any chance? I don't have any intention of using EAD but don't want my employer/lawyer know that I have filed it.

Back in the old days when there weren't as many IV members, people thought twice before giving a red dot to anyone. Now it has become kind of a fashion. You can get a red dot for asking questions someone thinks has already been asked or for asking simple questions which someone thinks that you should know or if you don't agree with someone's viewpoint etc etc. You might get a red dot if someone doesn't like your handle :D (I hope this is not true)
After someone presented a data of how many visas were allocated to India in past five years, I made a comment that India has in fact gotten far more visas than the allowed 7% in past few years. That was just an observation from the data presented yet I ended up with about 200 disapprovals and 2 red dots. I didn't say that India shouldn't have gotten those visas or if it was fair/unfair to anyone else but lot of people just hated the comment.
It just shows how intolerant IVians have become to other people's point of view. I am sure I'll get a red dot for this too :D

If the job offered is for 15-1031 and job responsiblities remain the same as 15-1031. It should be ok to work on SAP or any other bleeding edge technologies. Call USCIS and ask them for information.
